On Rügen’s only ice skating area, skaters who skilfully turn their pirouettes meet people who are taking to the ice for the first time. In a family atmosphere, the Sellin ice rink offers space for everyone on 550 square metres. Even the little ones can take their first steps here in the Seepark and culinary refreshments are also available.
The ice rink has been attracting locals and their guests to the skating rink since 2004. From the beginning of December to the end of February, the 550 square metre ice rink is a daily attraction for children and adults. It is flooded several times and frozen with cooling units to create a mirror-smooth ice surface. Regulars bring their own irons, but skates of all sizes can also be hired on site.
The best way to visit the Sellin ice rink is with friends and a day ticket. After fun laps on the ice, skaters can relax sitting in the small wooden hut by the ice rink while enjoying mulled wine or hot sea buckthorn juice. Snacks are also available for refreshment. An ideal finale is a visit to the bathing and adventure world AHOI! RÜGEN right next door, which entices visitors to the neighbourhood with sauna and bathing fun, a children’s pool and a 106 m long black hole slide.
Everybody who likes to be led on the ice is invited to the Seepark Sellin every day. Children from 10 years and adults can also play ice hockey on the ice rink. For this, you should register so that the rink is free and the ice rink team can set up the goals and bring your own equipment. A test of strength in curling is also possible with prior registration.
