When the whole family goes on holiday, the dog should be there, too. He is part of it and more and more hosts in Sellin and the surrounding districts have adapted to this. Two beach sections have been reserved for dogs, where they are even allowed to run around off-leash outside the season.
In Sellin, two beach sections – on the main beach on the left near the pier and on the south beach – are open for dogs. Here they are even allowed to run without a leash from November to March! In summer, numerous natural beaches on Rügen invite you to explore the Baltic Sea and Bodden coasts with your dog. But nowhere do they show their wild character as much as on these excursions into the countryside. That’s why they should be kept on a leash in the protected areas.
Holidays with the family dog are always at their best when the weather calls for trips. They force us out into the fresh air even when it rains and show us how great it is. After the autumn storms, they help us look for amber on Sellin beach. And out and about in the hill country – in Altensien, Neuensien, Moritzdorf and Seedorf – they are cheerful companions on bike tours and hikes. A dog is the best partner for discovering the chalk coasts, Bodden meadows and natural beaches on Rügen.
Not only sights and attractions in Sellin and on Rügen are prepared for dogs to visit. Many landlords also like dogs and offer some amenities to make the holiday with the dog even more enjoyable. Fenced garden plots, feeding bowls and the possibility to freeze fresh food are among them. Bicycle rental companies also have dog trailers in their range and excursion boats also take the animals on board.
