You always get somewhere
The Baltic Sea is below the high cliff, the Prince’s hunting castle a possible destination and on our way we encounter magical places. “You always get somewhere!” – is what all those tell us, who regularly walk in Sellin and its surroundings. The hiking tours maybe up to 31km long, the shortest one is 10km and leads around Sellin Lake. On this route you cross the water with a rowing ferry from Baabe bulwark to Moritzdorf.
In summer, you may join the guided tours offered by the “holiday rangers”. They pick up walkers once a week at the tourism administration. “You may eat anything, that grows here!“ says René Geyer when he goes on his herbal walks. On a stroll along the beach in autumn, you may collect amber in the fringes of the Baltic Sea. In deep snow, holidaymakers trudge over the hills or let themselves be inspired by bizarre ice formations of the Baltic Sea.
In spring and in autumn there are special hiking days on Rügen with guided tours and attractive accommodation offers, the “Hiking Spring” in the second half of May and the “Hiking Autumn” at the end of October. Please find further information on www.ruegen.de.
