All those who have little time
may familiarize with the history of Sellin. A walk along the „Wilhelmstraße” conveys an impression of the magnificent spa-architecture.
Who can offer a day
Takes a closer look at Sellin. A walk along the cliff line from the seabridge to the southern beach is just as adventurous as a tour around the beautiful villages Altensien, Neuensien, Moritzdorf and Seedorf situated at the „bodden“ (lagoon). If you are steady on your feet an ascent to the „Moritzburg” is worthwhile in any case. Besides the magnificent view over the marvellous bodden (lagoon) landscape, you may enjoy the good cooking of the inn.
If you do not mind offering several days
You should discover the biosphere reserve ot South Eastern Ruegen afteryou got to know Sellin and its surroundings. For the National Park Jasmundyou should at least offer one extra day. You may discover numerous castles, churches, manor houses and stately homes, natural monuments and archeological sites, but certainl,y also the extraordinary and manifold land forms and natural beauties of the island. If you can not make your choice from Cape Arkona, the island of Hiddensee, “Koenigsstuhl” or „Wissower Klinken”, the stately homes of Lietzow or Ralswiek, beween „Großer” or „Kleiner Zicker” on Moenchgut, the Circus of Putbus or the „Jagdschloss Granitz” (huntintg castle) and many, many more offers, you should first of all chose your personal way of locomotion, wether you want to drive or to walk!
From Sellin you may organize your short stay journey by bus, by boat, may go with the narrow-gauge railway or completely withour a car.
